羅伯特·弗朗西斯·莫菲

羅伯特·弗朗西斯·莫菲（Robert Francis Murphy，1924年3月3日—1990年10月8日），美國人類學家，1960年代初至1990年任美國哥倫比亞大學人類學教授^[1]。研究領域包括亞馬遜的蒙杜魯庫人（英語：Munduruku）以及撒哈拉的圖瓦雷克人。

莫菲是愛爾蘭移民的第三代後裔，在美國紐約皇后區遠洛克威（英語：Far Rockaway, Queens）長大。他的祖母在新罕布夏州的一家紡織廠工作，他的父親經常不在家，他的母親努力撫養五個孩子，後來患上乳腺癌並在莫菲14歲時病逝，莫菲一家生活在皇后區的「蕾絲窗簾和棚屋的愛爾蘭人（英語：Lace curtain and shanty Irish）」社區。

第二次世界大戰期間，他作為二等兵在美國海軍服役。戰後他依靠《退伍軍人權利法案》進入哥倫比亞大學讀本科。後繼續在哥倫比亞大學人類學系獲得文學碩士和哲學博士學位。他在研究生院體質人類學課程中遇到了約蘭達（Yolanda），他們在哥倫比亞大學聖保羅小教堂結婚。

1952年，莫菲夫婦在巴西亞馬遜叢林中的蒙杜魯庫人中間開展田野調查，他們研究了入贅模式父系社會的動態。莫菲在加利福尼亞大學伯克利分校任教數年，此後在1960年代初到哥倫比亞大學任教授。1960年代初，莫菲夫婦帶著兩個年幼的孩子羅伯特（Robert）、帕梅拉（Pamela）跋涉到撒哈拉，對尼日的圖瓦雷克人開展田野調查，莫菲此行得以研究隨夫居（英語：Patrilocal residence）模式母系社會。
