金属硼球烯

在化学当中，金属硼球烯是在硼球烯(B40)中封有金属原子的分子，硼球烯(B40)于2014年七月发现及发表。^[1]金属硼球烯与金属富勒烯构型相似，皆为球型碳当中包围着金属离子。^[2]

最近研究显示，金属硼球烯包含内包金属硼球烯及外包金属硼球烯。内包金属硼球烯为内部包裹着一个金属原子的硼球烯，如:钙@B40及锶@B40；外包金属硼球烯为金属原子在硼球烯的腰部相互连结形成围绕式的七边形将其包裹住。如: 铍&B40及镁&B40。^[3]‘@’及‘&’表示原子是在金属硼球烯内部或在金属硼球烯外部链接形成围绕式的七边形将其包裹住。
