美洲油棕（學名：Elaeis oleifera）又名黑果棕、美洲油棕櫚，分佈於中美洲至南美洲熱帶地區^[2]。

特徵[編輯]

本種樹幹沿地面匍生，葉片大而寬闊，高位芽^[2]，花、果與近親非洲油棕（E. guineensis）相似，但產油量低，因此美洲油棕本身幾乎不作為經濟作物栽種，但一些油棕園會栽培非洲油棕與美洲油棕的雜交種（E. guineensis x E. oleifera）以提高不飽和脂肪的含量，同時增強作物的抗病性^[3]^[4]。

分佈[編輯]

本種分佈於中、南美洲熱帶地區，包括哥斯達黎加、洪都拉斯、尼加拉瓜、巴拿馬、法屬圭亞那、蘇里南、哥倫比亞、厄瓜多爾、秘魯及巴西北部^[2]。
