2023年8月31日，南非當地時間01:30左右，約翰內斯堡的一棟大樓發生火災，造成77人死亡，88人受傷。[1][2][3]這是南非歷史上死亡人數最多的火災之一。[4]目前尚不清楚火災原因。
火災發生在約翰內斯堡中央商務區的一棟五層廢棄建築上，亞伯特街（Albert St.）與戴弗斯街（Delvers）交界。[5]該建築曾經是一個大型的商業中心。[6]樓內隔間僅以木板等易燃材料分隔，火勢蔓延較快。[7]
約有400名弱勢人群臨時地寄居在這棟大樓里，大多是貧困地區的移民。[8]
