毛翅燕属（学名：Stelgidopteryx）是燕科下的一个属。该属由美国鸟类学家斯宾塞·富勒顿·贝尔德于1858年建立，他以腿部无毛、初级飞羽边缘具有特殊形状的纤毛作为特征将现今的两种毛翅燕自原先燕属独立成一新属。[2]属名Stelgidopteryx是希腊文的合成词，由στλεγγίς（转写：strigil ，指一种清洁身体用的工具“刮身板”）及πτερῠ́ξ （转写：pterux，指“翅膀”）组成。[3]
目前为单型属的棕头燕有时会被合并进该属内，但棕头燕的外侧初级飞羽没有带有该“锯齿状”边缘的特征。[4]
