当时中国人口恰好4.61亿，根据华盛顿邮报1947年11月22日报道，Nanking, China, Nov.21 China's population today stood at 461 million, an increase of five million over last year, according to estimates of the ministry of the interior. Kiangsu Province--about the size of Iowa-- is most densely populated, with 36 million.
