[编辑]2018年，伊森·霍克和傑森·布倫取得詹姆斯·麥克布萊德的2014年小說《上帝之鳥》的版權[7]，計劃將該作改編成限定劇集，並在Showtime電視網上首播[8]。該劇由霍克和馬克·李察擔任主創，布倫創辦的布倫屋製片公司製作[9][10]，亞伯·曉斯、凱文·霍克斯、達奈爾·馬丁、海法·曼蘇爾、麥克爾·南奇恩和凱特·伍茲執導部份集數[11]。
